The Stockholm Armchair is produced in Sweden by Tallum. The original garden chairs were made for the 1930 Stockholm Exhibition and are associated with Gunnar Asplund, although their authorship has not been established beyond doubt. Read the history of the Stockholm collection.
The armchair has a frame made of galvanized steel tubes with round, bowl-shaped feet. The backrest, armrests, and seat are made from linseed-oiled European oak. The wooden parts are attached to the steel tube frame with aluminum rivets. All production, assembly, and distribution take place in Sweden. The chair is intended for outdoor use. Plastic feet are available as an optional accessory and sold separately.
Care Apply linseed oil to wooden parts 2–3 times a year to maintain the surface. Rain shortly after oiling may leave oil traces on the frame—this is entirely natural; simply wipe off with a soft cloth. Keep furniture under a roof during prolonged wet weather and indoors in a dry, well-ventilated space over winter. Colour changes, surface weathering and small cracks are natural features of wood used outdoors.
Materials Galvanized steel frame, solid oak battens, and aluminum rivets.
